Leucanthemella serotina 'Herbststern'

Giant Daisy

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Leucanthemella serotina ‘Herbststern’ – is the rare Giant Daisy blooming September and October with pure white daisy flowers with a yellow button eye on stems 5’ to 6’ tall. This selection is very much like the species except each petal is slightly broader. We have ours planted with the Giant Fountain Grass - Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Foxtrot', Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’ near Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Brimstone and Fire’ backed with a trio of Viburnum dilatatum ‘Erie’ – an opulent late season grouping... it's about as complete and perfect a September show one can put together in the garden (maybe add in one of the taller, very late season daylilies - I think I'm gonna do it!) This is followed and overlapped with a hardy, late season mum, 'Cambodian Queen'. Wonderful. The species is natvie to Eastern Europe - Poland and the Ukraine south to Serbia plus the United Kingdom, France and Switzerland but with a German cultivar name attached to it 'Herbststern' it could be designated of Garden Origin If purchased in our fall shipping window it will arrive cut back and dormant. If purchased in our fall shipping window it will arrive cut back and dormant. Established potted Giant Daisy from cutting.
