Antennaria dioca 'Rubra' - ​Upright vase-shaped rosettes of gray-green blades are covered with silver-white fuzz. From the center of the rosettes arise 3 to 4-inch stalks holding clusters of red-pink flowers... Pussytoes! One of a number of common names that tickle us... maybe because we are a household of cat lovers. This particular species is also called Stoloniferous Pussytoes which in the context of actual felines would be the stuff of B Sci-fi horror. Flowers occur late spring to early summer. Plant in average conditions that drain well. Good in a climax lawn, the rockery, front-of-the-border in fully to mostly sunny siting. Established potted perennial from division.
