Ajuga incisa 'Blue Enigma'
Giant Bugle
Plant Type:
SHADE PERENNIALSAjuga incisa 'Blue Enigma' - This Giant Bugle displays large, rich, dark blue spring flowers over a long period in spring on fat spikes atop bold foliage. The color is as deeply saturated as cobalt blue just edging into the purple range. Flowers are a draw to pollinating bees and hummingbirds, too. Attractive green leaves are incised in a sawtooth pattern. This is a completely deciduous and clumping perennial without any of the colonizing tendencies of its better known cousin, Bugleweed. Site 'Blue Enigma' in sun to half shade in fertile, moist soil - perfect for perennial border or for a sunny woodland's edge. Ajuga incisa is probably going to be a doer in USDA zone 5b where sheltered and mulched. If ordered in autumn your Ajuga will arrive cut back prepared for the long winter's nap. Established pot grown perennial from division.
