Abeliophyllum distichum 'Roseum'

White Forsythia

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Abeliophyllum distichum ‘Roseum’ – This multi-stemmed shrub is the fragrant pink flowering form of “White Forsythia” with very early bloom - so very welcome in the very early spring. It is best to cut back after flowering for a tighter and more handsome plant; we generally cut ours back every couple of years. Muted yellow to purple or purple-red foliage in most autumns. Site A. d. ‘Roseum’ in full to part sun planted in average to fertile soil. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised. Cutting grown.
