Asphodeline taurica

King's Spear

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Asphodeline taurica – 5 available. Slightly shorter in stature than “King’s Spear” Asphodeline taurica  blooms long and beautifully in white or white-touched-pink above gray-green tufts of grassy foliage, grayer than A. lutea. This plant is doing well for us in USDA zone 5b in xeric conditions planted in sand, crushed stone and compost in nearly full sun and has begun to do a bit of welcome self-sowing. It’s not commonly encountered and worthy of greater use. Just be certain not to plant asphodelines in a too-rich, moisture retaining mix or it will certainly rot. Add lime to the scrabble. Seed grown.
