Actinidia kolomkitka ‘Arctic Beauty’ (MALE) – In Autumn 'Arctic Beauty' will arrive pruned. When the foliage develops in spring icy white auras gradually emerge and develop on many leaves. The frosty colorations, like confectioner sugar icing, are large and striking as if painted on each leaf with a broad brush. In time the white patches become infused with a beautiful rosy pink tint. Folks who do not know this vine are astonished when they see it for it is a thing of beauty. Plant a male with a female or two if you want to harvest a late summer fruits which are delicious. A strong support should be erected for these fast growing twining vines unless they are grown on and over a stone wall. Plant ‘Arctic Beauty’ in fertile soil sited in some sun. They tolerate a fair amount of open shade. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised. Established potted vine, cutting grown.
