Phlomis russeliana - The Jerusalem Sage exhibits congested, arching, yellow tubes ringing leaf axils in a thick collar. The inflorescence is tiered up and down the stems for much of the summer creating unusual texture that will contrast dynamically with composites and trumpets. Medium green to olive-green leaves are broad, spade-shaped, fuzzy, aromatic and attractive. Jerusalem Sage, contrary to the implied geography of its common name comes to us from the mountains of Syria and Turkey. Plant Phlomis russeliana in full sun for best results though it is tolerant of some shade. Average soils will suffice. Established pot grown perennial from seed or division.
