Iris californica x sibirica 'Alba'

Iris

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Iris californica x sibirica 'Alba' - This unusual pairing offers white Iris flowers on a robust plant with narrow upright fans of green, gray-green blades. It's a vigorous grower and will fill a patch with ease. We're uncertain how cold hardy it is due to the I. californica influence; but we're guessing it's probably fine in USDA zone 5 with a southern cutoff in zone 8. But we don't know - it may be more cold hardy and heat tolerant. Fertile draining soil in full to mostly full sun exposure. Establised potted Iris from division.

Genus Overview: Iris

Common Name: Iris

From small woodland species and tiny forms happy in a sunny trough to those that stretch to one's waist and higher irises are among the most beautiful and unique of herbaceous perennials. They come in an amazing array of colors with fans of foliage that provide textural contrast to other garden denizens long after the flowers have passed. None that we carry are especially common. All are beautiful in the full sun border with many adaptable to pond's edge. They want a home! Pot grown division unless otherwise indicated.
