Sorbaria sorbifolia ‘Sem’ – 'Sem' is a dwarf form of the Ural Falsespirea. Large white astilbe-like flowers occur as panicles in summer over pinnately compound resembling a dwarf sumac. Foliage emerges with a striking pink flush. Each leaflet is sharply serrated. An attractive shrub for tough sites, it will colonize. For best leaf color and flowering 'Sem' is better planted in more sun than not, Average soil will suit it. This a suckering and colonizing plant; it will do so with gusto.
