Agave 'Sharkskin Shoes'

Plant Type:

Agave 'Sharkskin Shoes' - A perfect pair of sharkskin shoes to satisfy the secret Imelda Marcos living within many of us! This is a very smooth gray-blue selection of agave with relatively narrow upturned thick and fibrous blades forming a neat rosette. The epidermis, if you will, is reminiscent of shark skin. Good name. Great sunny conservatory plant where it cannot be grown outdoors. How I would love these to grace our stone garden - a touch of Arizona in Connecticut looking spectacular the year round. Draining soil with some fertility and added lime in plenty of sun. Keep it drier in winter. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised. Pot grown offset.
