Allium x 'Millenium'

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Allium x ‘Millenium’ – 'Millenium' is a Mark McDonough creation with lots of half dollar-sized globes in a clear red-purple, a rich shade, over dark green glossy ribbons of foliage in summer. The flowers are atop strong stems and last for several weeks. Upon close inspection we have determined that this cultivar is slightly better than A. x ‘Mt. Sinai’. Plant Allium x ‘Millenium’ in draining fertile soil sited in sun. And, yes, the cultivar name is spelled with but one "n" and not millennium... why? You'd have to ask Mr. McDonough. 2018 Perennial Plant of the Year award winner. Burstin' pots available. If ordered in our autumn shipping window your Allium will arrive as dormant potted bulbs.

Genus Overview: Allium

The Ornamental Onions are a large group with many garden-worthy species. We’ve selected some that have performed well for us. Most require full to nearly full sun in most any average garden soil. The addition of lime is helpful in acid soils. All our Alliums are offered as pot-grown flowering-sized bulbs from our stock plants.
