Euonymus fortunei ‘Wolong Ghost’ (ex: Hinkley) – 'Wolong Ghost' is a striking form of Wintercreeper Euonymus. The dark green leaves, nearly up to 3” long, each display a silver-white central and side veining, a ghostly feathering to be sure! It may grow to be a grand cushiony ground cover and/or it may be allowed to climb – your choice. It could even be grown on a chain-link fence to perform double duty as screen and to hide a fence that might make one wince! This is another wonderful and seldom seen addition to the gardening world by the great explorer, Dan Hinkley, owner of the original Heronswood Nursery that was in Kingston, Washington, now sadly defunct. Adaptable from sun to shade, planted in fertile, less than perfect soils, even clay. Originally listed as a USDA zone 6 plant it is thriving here in zone 5b (-15F). Spring planting may be the wiser tactic for gardeners towards the northern end of its range. Eatablished potted Wintercreeper Euonymus, cutting grown.
