Hydrangea paniculata 'Brussel's Lace'
Hydrangea paniculata 'Brussels Lace' - Large cones composed of lacy white flowers billow on a lovely dwarf, domed Panicle Hydrangea. Showy flowers emerge and extend 8 inches long on cone-shaped panicles in July lasting into October. Florets age pink in the late season. Foliage is dark green and as with other Panicle Hydrangea there is no appreiciable autumn color. Though 'Brussels Lace' is a compact and relatively dense cultivar Hydrangea paniculata blooms on new wood and can be pruned in late winter for an even denser shrub. Fertile draining soil in full to half sun; if half sun let it be morning shade. Established potted Panicle Hydrangea from cutting.

Genus Overview: Hydrangea paniculata
Common Name: Panicle Hydrangea
Hydrangea paniculata. The Panicle Hydrangea is an easy, tough shrub. Blooming on new wood in the mid/late season garden for many weeks on end it exhibits fair drought tolerance once it settles into the landscape. Large cone-shaped white flowers become infused with rose pink as they age. They will turn brown in autumn and as in the case of 'Nana' hang on through the winter for an extra season on interest. Site in full to half sun planted in any good garden soil that drains. All we sell are established shrubs from cuttings. All are a manageable size to easily get them settled into your landscape. The specie's native range is China and Japan.
