Wikstroemia trichotoma

Triki Wiki

Plant Type:

SHRUBS

Wikstroemia trichotoma Terminal tubular flowers are gentle yellow in mid to late summer. Their form suggests they would be a draw to hummingbirds. Opposite obovate matte-finished leaves are attractively, architecturally set along branched red-purple-pink and reminiscent of Hypericum patulum. The outline of the shrub is rounded and will likely achieve 3 to 4 feet high. Wikstroemia trichotoma is attractive, understated when not in flower and eminently prune-able. A rarely offered member of the Thymelaceae "Triki Wiki" (as referred to by Rare Find) is related to Daphne, Edgeworthia and, of course by extension, the thymes. Mostly to fully sunny sites in average to sandy draining conditions. Cutting grown.
