Vaccinium corymbosum
Highbush Blueberry
Plant Type:
DECIDUOUS SHRUBSVaccinium corymbosum - This is the straight species, the cuttings taken from a wild plant growing at Quackin' Grass. Upright rounded habit exhibiting urn-shaped florets in small racemes sprouting from axils in spring. When pollianted these develop into blue berries which are, as any blueberry grower will tell you, relished by birds. Simple medium to dark green leaves usually turn deep red in autumn but may also display orange and gold shades in some years. Fertile soil to fertile sandy ground with an acid Ph in part sun, dappled light to open shade. Established potted Highbush Blueberry from cutting.
