Tulbaghia violacea 'Variegata'
Variegated Society Garlic
Plant Type:
BULBSTulbaghia violacea ‘Variegata’ (aka 'Silver Lace') – The Variegated Society Garlic has gray-green strap-shaped leaves striped with creamy white, possibly almost evergreen in the southern part of its range. It blooms very freely with loose umbels composed of 8 to 20 lavender-pink flowers, rather showy and pretty summer into fall. It has a definite scent of garlic/onion which would likely thwart potential predators. We wish it was hardy for us! Variegated Society Garlic clumps and is easy in pots. Bulging pots with multiple bulbs are a bargain... We can't understand why this easy, lovely perennial isn't of more interest to gardeners.
