Trachelospermum jasminoides 'Wilsonii'(W776) – a tough, twining, self-supporting evergreen climber or ground cover with dark green glossy leaves with some white veining evident. The Star Jasmine produces lovely clusters of white summer flowers with each floret a pinwheel of 5 petals. Flowers are intensely fragrant in a sweet, heady and transcendent scent. Beautiful leaves turn bronze to red in winter. This selection was collected by E.H. Wilson (1876-1930) in the 1800s... an oldie and still a goodie! This is the cloned descendent of the very same plant to which I became enamored at Arnold Arboretum. Russell Stafford and I came across it on a March 10^thvisit and it was gloriously beautiful with no winter damage evident. Full to mostly sunny siting planting in average to fertile, draining soil... better results in more fertile ground. Add dolomitic limestone to the planting hole. Drought tolerant once established. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised. Cutting grown.
