Syneilesis x 'Tilt a Whirl'
Shredded Umbrella Plant
Plant Type:
SHADE PERENNIALSSyneilesis x 'Tilt a Whirl' - A dwarf, dense rounded dome of deeply incised circles with a noteable purple dot where the leaflets conjoin to the central stem. This compact Shredded Umbrella (never liked the common name) only grows one-foot tall by two feet wide. The peltate leaves are fascinating; viewing from above one might think of a lush palm forest on a pristine tropical island but Syneilesis x 'Tilt a Whirl' is a temperate zone gem that will become a love of yours. This will be a collector's feature in a woodland garden, fantastic contrasted with the many woodland wonders available for the shady realm. Plant in light but fertile draining soil in dappled to open shade. Syneilesis exhibits some summer drought tolerance and is not especially bothered by foraging insects or animals. Established potted perennial via division.
