Orostachys x 'Crazy Eddie'
Stonecrop
Plant Type:
ARID LAND PLANTSOrostachys x 'Crazy Eddie' - Wild, fun and eye popping succulent. Fleshy matte-finished evergreen rosettes are medium to light green with youngest segments touched with gray. Late season the centers of older rosettes begin to elongate. They stand straight up, many make an arced turn and become decumbent while the tips reach towards the sun. Each inflorescence harbors hundreds upon hundreds of tiny white florets. The base of each thickened inflorescence forms tens upon tens of smaller Minnie Me inflorescence. And sometimes this occurs at the tops of the main inflorescence. The gestalt is a wild chaotic jumble of flowering stems resting on and above the mat of rosettes pups adjacent to their moms. It's crazy! We've all been looking at it, enjoying it mostly agape. Originated with Ed Skrocki, renowned succulent breeder. Full to nearly fully sun in well-drained conditions - perfect in the rock garden but could be fun in a clay pot, too. Established potted Stonecrop from cutting.
