Miscanthus x 'Andante'

Maiden Grass

Plant Type:

GRASSES & GRASS-LIKE PLANTS

Miscanthus sinensis 'Andante' - Among the finest Miscanthus sinensis cultivars is 'Andante'. Profuse late summer inflorescence in buff/silver with a bare flush of pink froth this fine grass. The display of late season inflorescence when backlit by the sun illuminates like a spectacular fiber optic display. Its habit is graceful; the densely set blades in medium-dark green with a silver band running along the central vein rise and fountain out - mesmerizing in summer breezes. A Kurt Bluemel intro, a favorite of his, is possibly a hybrid between M. sinensis and M. transmorrisonensis. Neither rabbits nor deer will eat 'Andante'. Average to fertile draining ground in plenty of sun. Established potted Maiden Grass via division.
