Magnolia x loebneri 'Pink Mist' (F2 hybrid ex: Will Forster) - A lovely medium pink loebneri F2 hybrid conjured by Will Forster. This fine intro, a child from the pairing of Magnolia 'White Rose' x 'Raspberry Fun', offers flowers similar in appearance to 'Ballerina' but in a lovely light pink tint. This is new with untested climate range adaptability. 'Ballerina' is hardy in zone 4 so we're guessing that 5 will be safe. 'Raspberry Fun' is definitely hardy in 8a though its northern range is apparently untested. Does anyone know with assuredness? So question marks exist. We are planting one tree outdoors in 5b (USDA now dubs us 6a), so we'll see how it performs here. We expect 'Pink Mist' will be just fine in northeastern Connecticut. Deep fertile loam in half to full sun. Established potted Magnolia from cutting.
