Lonicera x tellemanniana

Plant Type:

VINES

Lonicera x tellemanniana - This fine hybrid Honeysuckle Vine is the offspring from the pairing or our native L. sempervirens with Chinese L. tragophylla. Red-orange buds open to choruses of gold trumpets infused with orange, molten copper from the distance. It's a beauty, glorious. Its main flush comes in May and June but will send out some recurrent flowers during the summer months. Coins of dark green to bluish green leaves with silvery white undersides may pick up yellow autumn tints prior to dropping. Bees, butterflies and hummingbirds will love it. This cultivar has been more or less available for approximately 100 years and is still demanding attention.Dappled to full sun - probably dappled conditions might be of benefit in the south with more sun in the north. Fertile draining soil is best though it will tolerate leaner ground and even clay, allegedly. Established potted vine from cutting.
