Iris japonica 'Eco Easter'

Fringed Iris

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Iris japonica 'Eco Easter' - A lovely, delicate Fringed Iris with the serrated falls in a pastel blue, slightly darker in tone than the straight species with much dark blue-purple spotting - kind of like a speckled Easter egg. The central part of the falls exhibit a color flare of deep, warm honey - nearly golden orange from the base to almost two-thirds the length of the petals. Yes, this is another gem selected and introduced by Don Jacobs... one that is not very common but uncommonly beguiling. Iris japonica 'Eco Easter' will colonize. Division.

Genus Overview: Iris

Common Name: Iris

From small woodland species and tiny forms happy in a sunny trough to those that stretch to one's waist and higher irises are among the most beautiful and unique of herbaceous perennials. They come in an amazing array of colors with fans of foliage that provide textural contrast to other garden denizens long after the flowers have passed. None that we carry are especially common. All are beautiful in the full sun border with many adaptable to pond's edge. They want a home! Pot grown division unless otherwise indicated.
