Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Indigofera pseudotinctoria‘Rose Carpet’ (ex: Arnold Arboretum) – Gorgeous, over-flowing trade gallons in our Autumn 2014 window in full bloom on August 23. 'Rose Carpet' is cloaked in small pinnate foliage, clean from the start to completion of the growing season. For a long period in summer the upright pyramidal spikes of purple-pink flowers composed of many tiny individual pea-like florets stud this neatly sprawling shrub. Ours often dies to the crown in winter but has recovered annually to put on quite a show. Site ‘Rose Carpet’ in full to half sun planted in any draining soil. This came our way through the 50 Program that Arnold Arboretum had in place with nurseries and professionals. We wish they would bring that program back. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised. Cutting grown.
