Geranium maculatum 'Vickie Lynn'
Wood Geranium
Plant Type:
SHADE PERENNIALSGeranium maculatum 'Vickie Lynn' - 'Vickie Lynn' demonstrates two worthy traits among all the solid characteristics of the speces. 1) The flowers are larger than the species in smoky pink... or depending upon your level of cynism a muddy pink. 2) The more noteable trait is its autumn color: striking red sometimes mixed with yellow but predominately deep red. Though the species is native to most of eastern North America and west into Oklahoma and South Dakota this comely selection of Wood Geranium was selected in Switzerland. Fertile to average soil in half to full open shade. Demonstrating good drought tolerance Geranium maculatum is content in dry summer conditions; if too arid they'll let you know with sagging foliage; throw some water at them and they're good to go. Established potted Wood Geranium from division.
