Clethra alnifolia 'Sixteen Candles' Hefty, landscaper quality. This is another dense and compact form of Sweet Pepperbush growing intermediate between 'Hummingbird' and 'Anne Bidwell'. White spires of fragrant flowers elongate and grace the shrub from mid- to late summer. Foliage is lustrous green. Yellow autumn leaf color follows the floral display. The seed heads hold up to winter snows and are attractive in this season. Full to mostly sunny siting in fertile, moisture retaining soil will provide the best culture. 'Sixteen Candles' is an excellent bee and butterfly plant. Cutting grown.
