Calopogon tuberosus 'Alba' - Tuberous Grass Pink from Quackin Grass Nursery

Calopogon tuberosus'Alba' (may also be seen as Calopogon tuberosus f. alba) - This is the white selection of Tuberous Grass Pink, an easier to grow ground orchid and a New World. Late spring and early summer white flowers with yellow hair-like structures at the top of flowers are neon signs which draw pollinators. The 1 to 2-inch flowers may be as few as two to as many as twenty on stalks that may rise to 48 inches. A big draw for bumblebees. Manitoba to Newfoundland, south to Florida, west to Texas. Plant corms only 1 inch deep. Likes even moisture in a 50-50 blend of peat and grit. Avoid sweet soils - they will not be happy. They can be grown in a somewhat boggy situation and are perfectly happy with Sarracenia, a rich pairing in our estimation. Full sun for best development. Established potted (might be bare root depending upon time of the season) corm from division or seed grown. Please note: these will arrive in a mix of peat and perlite. This should be considered and temporary mix as 50/50 peat sand is a long term and appropriate mix for this fine ground orchid.
