Callicarpa dichotoma 'Shiji Murasaki'
Beautyberry
Plant Type:
DECIDUOUS SHRUBSCallicarpa dichotoma 'Shiji Murasaki' WINE SPRITZER™ - Violet veins support new white tissue-touched green. Beautyberry, yes, but just as 'Splashy' tends to be a better foliage plant than a fruiter 'Shiji Murasaki' will fit the same mold. We're thinking that in the north this will be a die-back shrub sprouting from the base of the trunk(s) in the next growing season. As such we expect it may reach a height of about 3 feet during the growing season but growing taller in the south. This will be a spectacular color element in contrast to other garden denizens in part shade planted in fertile, draining ground. Established potted shrub from cutting.
