Acis autumnalis 'September Snow'
Autumn Snowflake
Plant Type:
BULBSAcis autumnalis 'September Snow' - Lovely white bells dangle in late summer / early autumn usually in pairs, sometimes singly and occasionally a trio shows. The buds arise upon wiry stems up to nearly 6 inches tall. All delicate bells are edged as with pinking shears. Oh, those busy pixies! Foliage is dark green and grassy. 'September Snow' was drawn from the wild, locale unknown. This delicate and desirable species is found in a broad swath in the Western Mediterranean where winters are relatively mild. Perfect in the rock garden, at the edges of the very small garden where a colony in autumn would touch the most jaded of gardening hearts, or potted in a sunny alpine house. Full sun where it can bake a bit in summer in well-drained soil... add some sand and don't be stingy about it! Established pot grown bulbs.
