Clethra alnifolia 'Ruby Spice'

Sweet Pepperbush

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Clethra alnifolia 'Ruby Spice' - Found as a branch sport of 'Pink Spires' by Andy Brand at Broken Arrow Nursery 'Ruby Spice' displays a much deeper, darker pink fragrant inflorescence. Flowers occur mid- to late summer on this extraordinary Sweet Pepperbush. It's a quick, large and upright grower with handsome green leaves which turn bright yellow in autumn. The seed heads hold up to winter snows and are attractive in this season. Full to mostly sunny siting in fertile, moisture retaining soil will provide the best culture. 'Ruby Spice' is an excellent bee and butterfly plant. Cutting grown.
