Exochorda korolkowii

Turkestan Pearlbush

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Exochorda korolkowii - The Turkestan Pearlbush produces masses of lovely pure white flowers from late spring racemes on a shrub with a rounded form. The tongues of blue-green leaves with somewhat undulating edges remain clean and attractive in summer. Autumn foliage may turn a respectable yellow. It's tough, easy, exceptionally handsome and downright beautiful when in pristine flower. It is also oddly under-utilized in our gardens. C'mon, people! Aren't you sick to death of petunias and impatiens yet???! Glad I got that out of my system. So, guess where the Turkestan Pearlbush originates? Though Exochorda korolkowii will probably grow in the deep south it may be the unfortunate recipient of leaf scorch which will mar its summer beauty. And we are honestly impressed with this handsome mounding bluish green shrub. When in flower it is pure beauty. Site in full sun planted in fertile draining soil. Cutting grown. Established.
