Bletilla striata 'Soryu' - 'Soryu' is "blue dragon". And it is distinctly, decidedly blue. Foliage is typical: very handsome upright pleated blades. Site your Urn Orchid in afternoon shade planted in fertile moisture retaining soil to which organic matter has been added. Once established Bletilla demonstrates some drought tolerance. Though we have listed a height of 18 to 24 inches in the happiest circumstance your Urn Orchid may rise to 30-inches. In the north be certain to plant Bletilla striata at least 4 inches deep.
