Asarum splendens
Wild Chinese Ginger
Plant Type:
SHADE PERENNIALSAsarum splendens - The one-inch diameter fantastical flowers are as if those from a mythical dark forest realm or a deep ocean creature; they are strangely beautiful and alluring, exotic in spring. Each heart-shaped leaf spade may grow 6 inches long by 4 inches wide cloaked in deep, dark green generously mottled with ghostly silver. Wild Chinese Ginger will form a beautiful ground cover where hardy. Plant in a humus-rich, moisture retaining soil in afternoon shade, morning sun or dappled light. Pot grown division.
This from Cindy P. (NY) on 5.2.2019: "I recently received my order of Asarum splendens and Salix sachalinensis 'Sekka'.   I have quit ordering from most on-line sellers due to size and quality of the plants received.  I want you to know that the plants I received were exceptional.   They were larger than expected, lots of roots, fresh, healthy and very well packaged.   I planted them quickly and they are looking good.  So glad I found you.   Thanks so much." ...Cindy, thank you.
