Bletilla striata ‘Eco White Edge’ – This selection sports a fine white edge all along the leaf margins. The blade shaped leaves arch on tough wiry stems; they are long and handsomely pleated from petiole to leaf point and are elegantly arched all season long. The 1.5” orchids are a rich rosy purple on wiry racemes with usually 6 to 10 flowers per stem – very showy in summer emitting some fragrance. Plant ‘Eco White Edge’ in fertile, enriched moisture-retaining soil sited in part sun conditions. Clumping with moderate increase. Once established Bletilla demonstrates some drought tolerance. Established potted orchid via division.
