Arisaema fargesii

Jack in the Pulpit

Plant Type:

BULBS

Arisaema fargesii - Farge's Cobra Lily is a knockout in the woodland garden. Each large wine-maroon spathe is striped with white clay. The maroon spadix emerges and sticks out like a child's tongue from the center of the flower below the flower's hood which gracefully descends as it narrows to a point. The bold tri-lobed leaves are enormous - almost tropical looking and stand up well in the summer garden. It's a surprisingly easy species despite its extraordinary exotic looks. Morning sun to dappled all day shade to open shade in fertile, organic draining soil that retains moisture between rains. Pot grown bulbs or bare root are of flowering size.
