Scrophularia buergeriana 'Lemon and Lime' - This relatively rare herbaceous perennial sports beautifully colored gold and green leaves, each with an emphasis on the broad yellow margins hugging an irregular verdant heart in a lime peel shade. This is a mint relative but no worries - though it will gradually stretch out it does not expand in the aggressive, almost frightening manner of its cousin. Lavender-pink spikes of flowers in summer are an adjunct to this lovely plant. We have little information about it but it has been completely hardy for us in northeastern Connecticut. Site in full to three-quarters shade in fertile soil. Cutting grown. As pretty as 'Lemon and Lime' is the species may have more important pharmacological application in treatment of dementia. Cutting grown.
