Staphylea holocarpa 'Rosea'

Bladdernut

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Staphylea holocarpa ‘Rosea’ – This is the pink flowering form of the white S. holocarpa. Flowers erupt on this Bladdernut in 2” to 4” panicles in late spring. The interesting pear-shaped seed capsules are 1.5” to 2” long and also infused with pink. Site in sun planted in fertile soil bearing in mind that Staphylea holocarpa ‘Rosea’ can be a very large growing shrub or even a small tree. Though we are uncertain of the origins of this pink flowering form of Bladdernut the species is found in Central China and Japan. Cutting grown.
