Pyracantha x 'Teton'

Hybrid Firethorn

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Pyracantha x 'Teton' – 'Teton' is a fine hybrid Firethorn cloaked in dark green glossy leaves. Its habit is quite strong, vertical and relatively narrow. Flowers are plentiful – cream white in spring. The fruit set is heavy in a glorious golden orange tone. A customer complained the fruit is "dull orange". Yes, it settles at an orange tint. Still amazing. Berries are persistent. Another big plus is that 'Teton' demonstrates very good disease resistance to both scab and fireblight. Slow to 16 feet. Fertile, draining soil in full to half sun – better flowering and fruiting in more sun. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised. Potted shrub, cutting grown.
