Ligustrum quihoui (ex: Louis Raymond) – is the Waxyleaf Privet. The gestalt of many individual panicles arranged for up to a foot and sometimes longer at the ends of stems make for a very showy flowering event over the course of many summer weeks. Deep, dark green glossy leaves remain clean and handsome all season long. Blue black fruits replace the white panicles. With good salt tolerance this shrub will settle happily into sandy loam with the ability to grow faster and larger in more fertile soils. This plant is considered invasive in certain parts of the South (Maryland, DC, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Texas and Arkansas). Please consider alternatives if this plant is a problem in your area. Ligustrum quihoui is amenable to pruning. Cutting grown.
