Iris cristata 'Eco Blue Bird' –  This selection of Crested Iris was made by Don Jacobs of Eco Gardens made. Compact and vigorous 'Eco Blue Bird' flowers in spring sporting lovely blue iris flowers complete with gold fringe. Small enough for the shaded to part sun rock garden or even a trough this little beauty holds its handsome fans of blades for the remainder of the growing season. As with many Iris the rhizomes should be planted at ground level or slightly higher than the surrounding terrain.'Eco Blue Bird' is a clumping perennial with moderate increase. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised. If planted deep they will likely languish and rot. Division.
