Hydrangea macrophylla 'Kardinal'

Lace Cap Hydrangea

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Kardinal’ – 'Kardinal' is another beauty with dark glossy green foliage and deep rich reddish lace caps - kind of the lace cap version of the mop head, 'Brunette'. Foliage deepens, darkens and becomes suffused with crimson to burgundy with possibly some gold tones in the mix in the late season garden. This is a gorgeous cultivar. ‘Kardinal’ blooms on old wood. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised.
