Hydrangea involucrata 'Yokudanka'

Bracted Hyrdangea

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Hydrangea involucrata ‘Yokudanka’ – This small-growing Bracted Hydrangea forms large fertile flowers over a long period in summer in a purple-pink-mauve shade just touched with green and ringed with creamy double sepals. The inflorescences are large, congested and fascinating. And when at peak the blend of innocent white blushing with the barest of refined pastel pink is purely beautiful. Several blooms together could make a wedding bouquet. 'Yokudanka' and 'Plena' used together in a scheme in the garden or a vase would be a memorable and glorious sight. Leaves are gray-green and soft in feel due to a very fine hirsute cloak. Fertile, humus enriched soil is a requirement for all Bracted Hydrangeas. Site in part shade. Cutting grown. For the northern zones where it may thrive spring planting is strongly advised.
