Geranium macrorrhizum 'Variegatum' – Each rounded but deeply lobed gray-green leaf is generously splashed with cream variegations. The soft matte-finished leaves stand like a cluster of umbrellas. They are aromatic when crushed. Cupped magenta-pink bowl-shaped flowers up to 1 inch diameter occur May into June. Sometimes modest rebloom follows. The handsome leaves may pick up some reddish tones in autumn. This will form a beautiful ground cover planted in soils which drain well sited in full to mostly sunny conditions once established. One warning: it is not as easy to satisfy as other G. macrorrhizum selctions. Clumping, slowly carpeting. Established potted Cranesbill from division.
