Corydalis solida – These selections of Fumewort erupted from the ground here and there with their nearly glauous ferny leaves. When they flowered it was difficult to choose which one we liked best. They displayed a range of colors from beautiful red spurred flowers, coral pin,, pink, white and lavender shades clustered atop thin, fleshy stems. Complex, compound pinnate foliage is soft gray-green and pretty in appearance. This is a spring ephemeral and will slowly spread into a marvelous carpet of potentially mixed colors. Pair it with later plants that will share garden floor without squelching this worthy woodlander. Site Corydalis solida “dark red #2” in part to full sun planted in fertile, draining soil. Potted bulb(s), offsets.
