Cercis chinensis 'Alba' - White Chinese Redbud. Early-mid spring flowers are clustered vibrant red-purple, about 3/4 inches long. Leaves look like those of Cercis canadensis, heart-shaped and 3 to 5 inches in diameter, simple and attractive. This specie's habit tends to be a multi-stemmed shrub but may be pruned into a small tree if someone armed with pruning shears was insistent and persistent. Fertile soil in part to full sun. This species may benefit from some shade in its southern haunts. Shrubs in the south will likely grow taller than their northern counterparts. Established potted Chinese Redbud from cutting.
