Viola odorata 'Clive Groves' - Extremely fragrant deep purple flowers are touched with violet on this very vigorous seedling selection of Sweet Violet. 'Clive Groves' sometimes will rebloom in the fall. Green leaves are heart-shaped. This is a clumping plant that may modestly increase its girth with short runners. Sweet Violet is a draw for both bees and butterfiles. Happiest in morning sun shielded from harsh afternoon sun. Prefers fertile evenly moist soil. Introduced by Charles Groves in 1985. Established potted Sweet Violet from division.
