Philadelphus 'Yellow Cab'

Mock Orange

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Philadelphus coronarius 'Yellow Cab' - A Mock Orange with a difference: the outline of 'Yellow Cab' is an upright rounded bush composed of brilliant yellow foliage. In mid to late spring into early summer single, cupped white flowers with the exceptional fragrance generously dot the glowing leaves. Each white flower exhibits a dash of raspberry at the base of the cup - lemons and raspberries and snow! That dash of raspberry sets off all the flowers and is delicious studded on the yellow foil of foliage. Bright yellow spring foliage gradually becomes infused with chartreuse as the summer wears and will always be brighter and different from those green-leaved Philadelphus species. Full sun will stay the yellowest leaves longer; a mock, impressionistic NYC yellow cab. Plant in fertile, draining ground. Established potted Mock Orange from cutting.
