Hydrangea paniculata 'Silver Dollar' - Panicle Hydrangea from Quackin Grass Nursery

Hydrangea paniculata 'Silver Dollar' - Pure white dense, fat cones like enormous gumdrops grace this fine intro in summer. Panicles are composed of mostly sterile florets which helps account for the plush density. Flowers emit a slight fragrance. Towards autumn flower heads gradually age pink. Flower heads eventually turn brown and tend to remain on the shrub through the winter providing modest interest during the coldest part of the year. 'Silver Dollar' forms an intermediate-sized shrub whose compact presence will fit a smaller space. Part to full sun in fertile soil that holds onto some moisture between rains. The species hales from China; 'Silver Dollar' is, of course, of garden origin. Hydrangea paniculata in all of its renditions flowers on new wood and can be pruned in late winter if and when necessary. 'Silver Dollar' has achieved the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
