Acorus calamus 'Variegatus'

Sweet Flag

Plant Type:

GRASSES & GRASS-LIKE PLANTS

Acorus calamus 'Variegatus' - Variegated Sweet Flag. Graceful, A standout. Easy. Perfectly at home in a wet area or as a pond marginal replete with beautfully white and green variegated swords. Though looking all too Iris-like this species belongs to Acoraceae. It was formerly designated in Araceae; apparently, closely related to the Arums. This fine herbaceous water-lover has an exceptionally broad native range: Siberia, China, Korea, Japan, Phillipines, Indonesia but also in North America and Europe. Where the variegated form was found... well, we don't know but are very glad it was! Established potted perennial from division.
