Aconitum japonicum - Deep blue to purple and some pale with more white in them. Note: we cannot guarantee a particular shade. Spanish conquistador helmets bunched together at the tops of stalks reaching three or more feet tall in the late season garden, August to October. Flowers are showy. Glossy leaves are deeply lobed and palmate with a tracing of red-purple veins. Easy and handsome, strong stalks grow from tuberous rootstock. Note: this is a Monkshood, an aconite - all parts are poisonous. Fertile ground in part to open shade.
